Jan 8, 2021 NORTH LIMA Motorists can expect to see work on Market Street in Beaver Township as crews begin to replace a stretch of water main. It is the primary supply through Boardman and Beaver townships. Stretching from Western Reserve Road to the Ohio Turnpike, nearly 6,000 feet of water main will be replaced, according to Aqua Ohio. The new main will improve the utility, which services 60,000 people in Mahoning County. The $800,000 project began Thursday as crews from Wilson Excavating and Grading, Inc. from New Wilmington, Pa., dug to mark undergound utilities. The work continues from last year when 2,700 feet of main was replaced near Market Street and Western Reserve Road.

(Photo by Guy Vogrin) CANFIELD Columbiana County Recorder Theresa Bosel will not face any jail time for a 2019 traffic accident that claimed the life of former Salem resident Cecil Chamberlain. During Tuesday’s sentencing hearing on misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charges, Mahoning County Municipal Court Judge Molly Johnson sentenced Bosel to one year probation and fined her $150. Bosel was also sentenced to 90 days in jail the maximum allowed with 60 days suspended. The remaining 30 days were ordered served under electronically monitored house arrest “out of concern for the COVID-19 pandemic,” Johnson said.
