Little Red Reading Bus routes available
The summer route schedule for the Little Red Reading Bus is now available. The Little Red Reading Bus is a mobile library service of the West Fargo Public Library. This service brings books, activities, games, crafts and other library programs into neighborhoods. In 2018 the West Fargo Educational Foundation and local teacher Stephanie Shea started the bus. In 2020, the bus became a service of the West Fargo Public Library.
This summer’s route is expanded from past years and includes weekly stops at eight West Fargo parks, two Fargo parks and locations in Horace and Harwood. All locations are within the West Fargo Public School District boundary.
The survey will help the library understand the goals and interests of the community.
“We want feedback from everyone. This includes people who rarely or never use the library,” said Library Director Carissa Hansen. “This group is important because we want to design a library that is valuable to the entire community.”
The survey will add input from interviews of library users and people who do not use the library. Identifying non-user groups came from comparing cardholder data against West Fargo’s demographics.
Initial results suggest the library is a resource for senior citizens and children. But the library can better serve teens, millennials and New Americans. The results also show the library is a tool for improving education, job hunting and saving money. The results from the interviews and survey will help direct future programs, such as college preparation for teens.
