Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. announced that its subsidiary Tecnimont S.p.A. has been awarded a contract by the Federal Executive Council to carry out Rehabilitation works for the Port Harcourt Refinery Company Limited, located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in Nigeria, which is a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
The overall contract’s value is about $1.5 billion. The project entails engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities for a full rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery complex, aimed at restoring the complex to a minimum of 90% of its nameplate capacity. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has signed a contract with Italy’s Maire Tecnimont for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery.
The $1.5 billion contract was signed Tuesday by the managing director of the Port Harcourt Refinery, Ahmed Dikko, and the vice president of Tecnimont, Sub-Saharan Africa, Davide Pellizola, respectively for NNPC and Tecnimont.
The signing is the latest indication the contract for the repairs of the 210,000 barrels per-day-refinery has taken off. The Federal Executive Council approved the contract last month, a decision many analysts criticised.

Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. (Milan, Italy) announced that its subsidiary Tecnimont SpA, through its Indian entity Tecnimont Private Limited, has been awarded an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) Lump Sum contract by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), for the implementation of new Acrylic Acid and Butyl Acrylate Units, for the production of relevant high added value products for the chemical market. The units will be located in Dumad, near Vadodara, in the Gujarat state, in India.
The overall value of the contract is about $255 million. The project scope entails Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning activities up to the Performance Guarantees Test Run.
