Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Crash In Charles County

(NANJEMOY, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred Thursday evening in Charles County.
At about 7:10 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Liverpool Point Road in the area of Riverside Road in Nanjemoy, Maryland. Due to the seriousness of the collision, the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack requested a collision reconstruction specialist (CRS) to assume the investigation.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 2013 Toyota Rav4 operated by an unidentified male driver, was traveling northbound on Liverpool Point Road in the area Riverside Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota crossed the center line and traveled off the roadway.

Maryland State Police Announces 2021 Youth Leadership Law Enforcement Seminar

(PIKESVILLE, MD) – The Maryland State Police announces the second annual 2021 Youth Leadership and Law Enforcement Seminar, a free event held to train, develop and teach future generations of young men and women about the benefits of a law enforcement career will take place in August.
The two-day, action packed, conference is free and will be held from 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13 to noon on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021 at the Maryland State Police Training Academy in Sykesville. High school and college students interested in starting a career in law enforcement are invited to learn about ‘Maryland’s Finest’ from troopers who specialize in a wide range of expertise.
Maryland State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Queen Anne’s County

(CENTREVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred last evening in Queen Anne’s County.
Shortly after 9:10 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack responded to a report of a pedestrian face down in the roadway on eastbound Rt. 50 at Cox Neck Road, in Chester, Maryland.
The pedestrian, identified as John A. Price, 62, of Stevensville, Maryland, was transported to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was pronounced deceased around 10:30 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, a driver of a 2018 Kia Soul contacted the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Operations Center to report possibly hitting an animal in the roadway, in the eastbound lanes of Rt. 50 near the crash scene, and continued to his destination.
