On Thursday. UMass Memorial Health at the Mercantile Center had walk-in vaccination appointments available.
Dr. Robert Klugman, medical director of employee health and occupational health at UMass Memorial Health, said the vaccines are kept frozen in the refrigerators, and are thawed out as needed throughout the day. If there are any cancellations, Klugman said the Mercantile Center clinic will reach out to a list of interested people.
After a vaccine is thawed at a clinic, Klugman said it must be used between four to six hours. The doses come in vials that can fill six to 10 doses, and the small number of doses in a vial help to ensure that a large number of doses do not go to waste, Klugman said.

A clinic in Fall River said dozens of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are available without appointments on Thursday.
The clinic at Bristol Community College is providing the two-dose vaccine until 3 p.m. at 777 Elsbree St. The clinic is located on campus in the G Building.
Appointments are not necessary to receive the vaccine. The Moderna vaccine is open to all individuals who are at least 18 years old.
Walk-in vaccination clinics are starting to pop up around the state.

Ten days ago when Massachusetts opened COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to everyone in the state 16 and older, officials suggested it may be some time before the entire population can book appointments.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, folks, without an appointment, can receive their COVID vaccine at the Marriott Courtyard at 75 Felton St. in Marlborough. The clinic is offering both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

MANCHESTER, CT Jordan Pappalardo, 26 of Manchester, New Hampshire, was arrested in Manchester, Connecticut, accused of barricading himself inside a hotel and threatening to shoot police officers.
On Tuesday, police attempted to speak to Pappalardo at a Marriott Courtyard on Slater Street to notify him of an extraditable warrant. Police said he told them he had a gun and threatened to shoot officers. Officers established a perimeter around the hotel and evacuated rooms while calling in the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team (CREST). They began communicating with Pappalardo and learned there was a 20-year-old woman in the room with him.
