John Sipos was arrested in connection to the murder of 24-year-old Mary Scott.
He was serving in the US Navy and was based here in San Diego. Four months after his release, Mary was found raped and murdered in her City Heights apartment.
DNA evidence collected through a genealogy website led investigators to 75-year-old Sipos living in Pennsylvania. He was flown back to San Diego to face charges, but according to the District Attorney’s office, has “failed to produce himself for court.”
Family members are frustrated with the legal games. The next arraignment date is December 22nd.

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - With just one more week until Christmas, a local non-profit is making its final push to raise money to reunite military families this holiday season.
The organization helps fly wounded and ill military service members home to see their families during their recovery and rehabilitation.
Unfortunately this year, many of the hospital visits from family have been limited or cut altogether, and being able to get home this holiday season can be more impactful than ever.

Planet Fitness to open new location at Midland Mall

After a brief delay in the process, Planet Fitness gym in Midland is finally set to move to the Midland Mall on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
The current location down the road at 701 Joe Mann Boulevard will be closed until then. However, all members of the Midland club, owned by PF Michigan Group, LLC, are able to visit any other area Planet Fitness in the meantime. The closest others are in Bay City, Saginaw and Mount Pleasant.
