Discrepancy in Wood River council election results baffles top vote-getter; Ming-Mendoza: IT issues will be resolved

Plank Jeremy Plank and Scott Tweedy have been elected to the Wood River City Council, according to unofficial results of Tuesday s municpal elections. But several hours after polls had closed and vote totals for Wood River s 13 precincts were posted online, the numbers did not comport with what Plank s campaign team had from its review of precint tallies. His campaign had gathered precinct printouts, which do not include early voting numbers tabulated at the county, and though his team was missing one precinct s tally, the numbers for 12 precincts (504) exceeded what was posted for public viewing with all 13 precincts reporting (496) - which would have included early votes.

Adrian selling more West Beecher Street property

ADRIAN A marijuana company wants to turn land on West Beecher Road into its own business park. The Adrian City Commission approved the sale of another 54 acres to Objectiv Growth Monday. The sale, worth $500,000, is the second land deal the two entities have struck. The city agreed to sell 102 acres of its Marvin Farm property to the company last November for $1.3 million. The land is across from Fluresh on the north side of Beecher. What originally started out as an offer of $500,000 for 20 acres has turned into a $1.8 million deal for the city, which has owned the property since 2003. The city will net a profit, too, as it purchased the land for about $1.25 million, according to city administrator Greg Elliott.

Share this article Share this article SHEBOYGAN, Wis., Feb. 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Forbes Magazine has announced that Rockline Industries has been ranked number 69 on its list of America s 500 Best Midsize Employers of 2021. The full list and related stories appeared in the February 9 issue of Forbes Magazine and is available online at https://www.forbes.com/lists/best-midsize-employers/#5658e44c210f. The most important consideration for being included in this year s list was how a company was able to adapt to the global pandemic in ways that benefited both their customers and their employees. As one of the world s largest private label makers of disinfecting wet wipes, Rockline has had to considerably increase production and make innovative changes to its product lines to meet the overwhelming consumer demand for its products.
