The provincial government has made it “abundantly clear” that it will not perform annexation or severance of communities without joint municipal consent, said Sault Ste. Marie MPP Ross Romano.
Romano arranged a meeting late Friday between Mayor Christian Provenzano and Minister of Municipal Housing and Affairs Steve Clark to discuss a petition that is being circulated in the former Parke Township area from supporters who want to annex property from Sault Ste. Marie and move the boundary in Prince Township.
