TROY, N.Y. â Rensselaer County District Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Autumn Hinchcliff, 25, of Troy, was sentenced to state prison after her plea of guilty in connection with an April 2019 stabbing. Hinchcliff pleaded guilty in March.
She was sentenced to 12 years in state prison on one count of second-degree attempted murder, 12 years for one count of first-degree assault, six years for one count of second-degree assault, 2â - 7 years on one count of aggravated criminal contempt, all felonies, and 364 days on one count of misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Hinchcliff has been in the Rensselear County jail since her arrest on April 18, 2019, in connection with the stabbing that took place on 2nd Street in the City of Troy.

TROY, N.Y. â Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced she will participate in the week-long EDPRT (Emotionally Distressed Persons Response Team) training, along with the Troy Police Department, East and North Greenbush Police Departments, Rensselaer Police Department, Hoosick Falls Police and Rensselaer County Probation.
âDealing with emotionally distressed individuals is a part of the job for police officers and caseworkers and there is training available to deal with these interactions,â Donnelly stated.
âOur goal is to better equip law enforcement and agencies on how to deal with suicidal persons, complex behaviors and interactions that come along with these encounters, Donnelly explained.Â
The Tisdols were each arraigned on two counts each of felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Additionally, William L. Tisdol was indicted on one count of each of misdemeanor second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree misdemeanor unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.
The Tisdols are accused of possessing loaded firearms on Interstate 90 in December of 2020. William L. Tisdol is also accused of recklessly engaging in conduct which created a substantial risk of serious injury to New York State Trooper Kai Garlipp.

âAfter a brief struggle with Trooper Garlipp, the Tisdols attempted to flee on Interstate 90. After they were taken into custody, weapons were found in their vehicle,â Donnelly said.
TROY, N.Y. â During their April meeting, the unanimously adopted (19-0) a resolution urging New York State to create a crime database of all convictions of animal cruelty.
This resolution, proposed by Majority Leader Ken Herrington, comes after members of the Legislature Minority proposed a Local Law proposing the creation of an Animal Abuse Registry in Rensselaer County.
Members of the Legislature have also met with Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly to seek clarification of language included in the law, and how it would be enforced and implemented by her office.

The local law has undergone several modifications and revisions, and is still being worked on by members of the Legislature.
