It doesn t put a force field around somebody and it doesn t prevent the virus from coming in, said Dr. Mary Beth Graham at Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin.Doctors said there has been confusion because most people may believe the vaccine means they cannot contract the virus. But they said the vaccine doesn t stop the virus from getting into a person s body.It does prevent the virus from doing serious harm and causing more deaths. Pfizer, Moderna, J&J? Don t worry about vaccine choice, doctors say

More than 2 million people in Wisconsin will become eligible for the vaccines on Monday. The next group includes people with a broad range of medical conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity as well as those who are overweight. The medical conditions put them at a higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Restaurants workers, clergy and judges, prosecutors and others who work in the criminal court system also now are eligible for the vaccines. Everyone 16 and older in Wisconsin is expected to be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by May 1. The approval of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will speed the rollout. But the state is not expected to receive regular shipments from the company until next month.
