Big-name retailers Claire s and The Works are to shut inside a shopping centre - just weeks after being allowed to reopen.
Staff have told customers that Claire s will close inside Stafford’s Guildhall Shopping Centre on Friday, May 28. It will be followed by The Works on Sunday, May 30.

At a joint meeting of the city council and the county commissioners in April, Chair Julia Olson-Boseman announced a surprising change of heart.

New Hanover commissioners voted in the fall of 2019 to divest from WAVE. That announcement prompted the transit system to announce that with fewer funds and declining revenue streams, they would cut routes in the county, according to past StarNews reports.
The resolution approved by the council asks Parker and the board to review the current route structure, assess the need for future improvements and cost benefits, and examine the value of adding micro-transit or on-demand services to the system.
