Worker identified in fatal 9-story fall at Jersey City construction site Updated Mar 14, 2021; Facebook Share The worker who fell nine stories to his death at a Jersey City construction site Wednesday has been identified as Colm Quinn of New York, according to an Irish news site. Quinn, 43, lived in New York, but was born in Newry, County Down, Ireland, an obituary published by Pelham Funeral Home in New York said. Quinn will be remembered as a “gentleman” with a great sense of humor and cheeky smile, the obituary added. Quinn, a contractor, was at the 136 Summit Ave. building in Jersey City before he tragically fell down an elevator shaft at 7:45 a.m. that day. He was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.
