Thomas John Smaha
SCARBOROUGH – Thomas John Smaha passed away on Jan. 7, 2021 from natural causes at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Tom’s warmth, kindness, concern for others and humor were shining to the very end. He lived his life to the fullest.
Tom was born in Portland on Oct. 3, 1943, the son of John and Agnes (Lahood) Smaha. He spent the first years of his life growing up in Portland. Tom graduated from Deering High School and attended North Yarmouth Academy. He went on to college at the University of Southern Maine in Portland and graduated from the University of Maine, Orono in 1966, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, with a B.S. degree in Business. It was at UMO where he met his wife of 54 years, Mary Kathleen Doe.
Bernard ‘Ben’ Robins
Bernard “Ben” Robins left to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, 2021.
He was beloved father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. His home was the center of the extended family, and everyone knew they were welcome in Cutchogue.
Ben was born June 11, 1925, to Frank and Stella (Bukala) Szymanski. He was raised in South Ozone Park and attended Brooklyn Technical High School, graduating in 1943. Immediately following graduation he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was stationed in several air bases in California and Florida following boot camp and training.
Ben then attended the Academy of Aeronautics, graduating in 1951. He married Marion Simonson on May 17, 1952, making their home in Oceanside, N.Y. Ben and Marion had two sons, Brian (deceased) and Dale.
AUBURN David Leddy, 71, of Bridgton passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 at Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born on June 12, 1949 to Thomas and Dorothy Kirk Leddy in Springfield, Mass. He attended Cathedral High School in Springfield, Mass. and took some college courses at University of Southern Maine. He faithfully served our country in the United States Army. He married Geraldine Kraus on Feb. 16, 2003
David was a carpenter and taught construction at Lake Region Vocational Center for 19 years before retiring. He was very proud to have built his own home, he loved using his hands to build, construct and finish things, and he was always busy. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his beloved dog Obie, spending time at the ocean, but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
