MP Rayner backs Marie Curie s Great Daffodil Appeal Date published: 10 March 2021 MP for Ashton and Failsworth, Angela Rayner Ashton and Failsworth MP Angela Rayner and Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs have joined forces to help end of life charity Marie Curie provide care and support to more people living with a terminal illness. Ms Rayner, Labour’s Deputy Leader, and Marie Curie Ambassador Jason, are backing the Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign held every March. The campaign, which is reaching its 35th anniversary later this month, has for the first time had to cancel all of its public collections, leaving the charity with a potential loss of over £3 million.

COVID won’t wilt Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal as the charity urges supporters in Dorset to spring into action. End of life charity Marie Curie is calling on residents of Dorset to support its flagship fundraising campaign, the Great Daffodil Appeal – which is reaching its 35th anniversary next month – and has, for the first time, had to cancel all of their iconic public collections for the campaign. After an extremely difficult 12 months, the charity is facing a potential loss of over £3 million due to the cancelled public collections but has a variety of creative ways that people in Dorset can support the campaign this year including donning their trainers and ‘stepping up for Marie Curie’ by walking 10,000 steps every day throughout March.
