19th November, 5:30pm: Lateral flow test bookings available to all symptomless students from tomorrow
In emails circulated by college principals this afternoon, the University today announced that all students without any Covid-19 symptoms will be able to book lateral flow tests (LFT) from 10 a.m. tomorrow. The tests, which return a result via email within “one to two hours”, will first be available on Tuesday 24th November and will be available seven days per week.
The booking system on DUO will become accessible once a student has passed a 10 minute tutorial and quiz on the same website, and the University recommends reserving two tests seven days apart, with the second occurring as close to one’s scheduled return home as possible, in order to maximise reliability.
Irish Return to Action Hosting Series with Virginia share
NOTRE DAME, Ind. Notre Dame (18-12, 9-10 ACC) returns to play this week after a brief pause, set to host a four-game series with Virginia April 16-18 at Melissa Cook Stadium.
Notre Dame owns a 10-game home win streak thanks to an April 7, 8-1 victory over Western Michigan. The streak began with an April 13, 2019 win over NC State and extends to the Irish’s six home wins this season (Notre Dame did not play any home games in 2020, as the season was cut short prior to the first scheduled home matchup). Overall, the Irish boast 454 wins at home in program history, and their record at Melissa Cook Stadium since it opened in 2008 is 178-41-1.

Algoma Public Health has said it has completed its investigation of the COVID outbreak at St. Mary’s College that deemed a Grade 9 cohort and bus #55 at “high risk” earlier this month.
St. Mary’s College distributed the two-page letter to parents of students at the school Thursday.

The letter states that those under isolation as a result of the investigation have now completed their isolation period at midnight.
“Members within the household can continue to attend work and resume daily activities while following the current public health recommendations,” the letter reads.

Corbin Burnes was still flying below the radar when he was featured here at FanGraphs in June 2017. He’d come into the season ranked No. 18 on our Milwaukee Brewers Top Prospect list, and
Baseball America was even less bullish, slotting him 24th on their own. When I talked to him for the article, the 2016 fourth-round pick out of St. Mary’s College had yet to throw a pitch above the A-ball level.
He’s not under the radar anymore. Burnes broke out in last year’s pandemic-shortened season, and two weeks into the current campaign he’s the hottest pitcher on the planet. Over his first three starts, the 26-year-old right-hander has allowed four hits and one run in 18-and-a-third innings. Moreover, he has 30 strikeouts and has yet to issue a free pass. In a nutshell, hitters have been helpless against his five-pitch mix.

Colleges statewide are now applying to receive thousands of vaccines earmarked for students, despite the pause announced Tuesday on Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
A total of 35,000 vaccines will be distributed to SUNY and private colleges throughout the state - in New York s effort to vaccinate students and young adults before the end of the spring semester.
Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh has applied for 400 vaccines.
College President Jason Adsit says he s unsure how the Johnson & Johnson rollback will affect availability but hopes other brands will be available.
