Boise Mayor Terminates Mask Mandate with One Exception

Boise Mayor Terminates Mask Mandate with One Exception It s like a neverending puzzle as the mask mandate has gone through a whirlwind of changes this week. We have another change in the mask mandate saga. Boise Mayor Lauren McLean came out on Friday and lifted the current mask mandate. This means you don t have to wear a mask indoors or outdoors if you choose. There is one small catch, but not really. We just wrote yesterday that double-vaccinated Idahoans didn t need to wear masks indoors or outdoors. It s funny because mine broke walking into Jackson s gas station and I didn t really know what to do. I didn t have to wear one since I have both vaccinations, but I wanted to so I wasn t the only one if that makes sense. I don t want to offend anyone because I m just accustomed to wearing one now.

Boise will also stop restricting crowd sizes, McLean said, though residents and organizations are encouraged to continue to take appropriate health precautions.

A sign hangs above a Planned Parenthood clinic on May 18, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois. | Scott Olson/Getty Images Idaho has adopted a new law defunding abortion providers and banning them from receiving contracts to teach sex education in public schools, ensuring that no state and local dollars are allocated to promote or perform abortion.  House Bill 220, “No Public Funds For Abortion Act,” was signed into law Monday by Gov. Brad Little, a Republican. The measure defunds outfits such as Planned Parenthood but excepts publicly-funded hospitals and abortions funded with Medicaid. The measure also bars school districts and public colleges from entering into contracts for abortion organizations to teach sex education and also stops public colleges and universities from providing abortifacient drugs to end a pregnancy after conception.

What your city and county pay their workers: The best-paid likely aren t who you think Hayley Harding, The Idaho Statesman May 5 Want to make $100,000 working for a city government? Easy. Just dedicate your life to a specific government role and eventually work your way up to leading that city department. An Idaho Statesman analysis of several Treasure Valley cities payrolls show that across the community, leaders of departments (such as fire and police chiefs, public works directors, and several elected roles, including sheriff and county clerk) consistently earn the highest salaries in municipal governments. The Statesman requested pay information from the cities of Boise, Meridian, Caldwell and Nampa, as well as from Ada and Canyon counties. Pay information for government employees is public record, and all the numbers in this story are current as of January.
