Redondo Beach to open Seaside Lagoon June 15

After being closed last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, Redondo Beach’s popular Seaside Lagoon is set to open June 15, the same day California is expected to reopen. “It would be a shame to not have that open,” said Mayor Bill Brand at a Redondo Beach City Council meeting this week, where the panel voted to open the park. “We can always close it if there’s another surge or if the county doesn’t allows us to open.” The council voted to have the Seaside Lagoon, one of the South Bay’s most family-friendly swimming areas, open from June 15 to Labor Day. But COVID-19 health restrictions could but a damper on those plans, Brand said.
