Published August 4, 2021, 5:30 PM CEBU CITY – As the city continues to reel from overwhelmed hospitals due to the rising cases of COVID-19, the city is racing against time to make the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) operational for COVID-19 patients. Aside from dealing with overwhelmed hospitals, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) reported that at least 132 medical frontliners were infected with COVID-19 in the past two weeks. Acting Mayor Michael Rama on Wednesday instructed the company that the city contracted to construct the CCMC to make the first three floors of the hospital operational by Monday, August 9. Failing to do so may lead to the termination of the company’s contract with the city, Rama warned.
