It’s Game On for a new arena and community centre in Prescott.
There were smiles and grins all around on Wednesday as the federal and provincial governments announced a combined $9.7 million toward the cost of the project to replace the old Leo Boivin Community Centre that was mothballed in 2018.

A gleeful Mayor Brett Todd said the governments’ commitments and the money raised by a local fundraising committee should allow the town to get the tender out the door and shovels in the ground by July, with a completion date in late 2022 or the spring of 2023.
