May 3 The Kansas City man accused of killing his two younger brothers after they arrived home from a Ramadan service Friday night had threatened family members on other occasions within the past two years, recent filings in Jackson County court allege.
Hanad A. Abdiaziz, 25, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 16-year-old Abdulwahid Abdulaziz and 14-year-old Abdirahman Abdulaziz. Abdiaziz was shot and killed during an armed encounter with Kansas City police hours after a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop A is investigating a shooting involving a Kansas City Police (KCPD) officer.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on the evening of May 1, KCPD officers located a homicide suspect near East Missouri Avenue at Maple Boulevard in Northeast Kansas City.
According to MSHP, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, but the suspect presented a short barreled rifle.
An officer fired his service weapon, striking the suspect.
Officers immediately performed life saving measures, a spokesperson for MSHP said. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Hanad Abdiaziz of Kansas City, Mo. He was wanted for the homicide of the teenage brothers killed on Friday night at 8th & Olive.

May 2 Kansas City police fatally shot an armed man suspected in the killings of two teenage boys after an exchange of gunfire on Saturday evening, officials said.
At 6:12 p.m. Kansas City police identified themselves as they sought to make contact with the homicide suspect near Maple Boulevard and East Missouri Avenue, Sgt. Andy Bell, a spokesman with Missouri State Highway Patrol, said during a media conference. Bell said the suspect then presented a firearm believed to be a short-barreled rifle before one officer opened fire.

May 2 Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting involving a Kansas City police officer, authorities said Saturday afternoon.
The officer involved shooting happened near Maple Boulevard and East Missouri Avenue, Capt. Dave Jackson, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, said in an email at 6:26 p.m. Saturday.
A heavy police presence was visible along Maple Boulevard at about 7 p.m.
No further information was immediately given.
