A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Colne Residents have been strongly urged to take action now with flooding possible in properties and low-lying areas after heavy rainfall. This morning, the Environment Agency issued a flood warning for the River Colne in the Rickmansworth area after river levels in the Colne rose over the last few days. The warning covers the parts of the river closest to the Moneyhill area of Rickmansworth, Maple Cross and Batchworth, but a flood alert has also been issued for the River Colne for the rest of Rickmansworth and in Watford.

After days of persistent and heavy rain, the Environment Agency issued a flood warning this morning in response to rising river levels along the River Colne. In particular, the agency is concerned about the water levels in parts of Rickmansworth, Maple Cross and Batchworth, with residents strongly urged to take action to minimise any damage caused by potential flooding of properties. A flood alert is still in force further up the River Colne towards Watford.

Also of note is a change of use from a bakery to include a cafe and takeaway in Abbots Langley High Street, six new homes in place of the current garages behind 36-44 Tring Road, Wilstone and construction of two low-impact eco-homes in Rucklers Lane, Kings Langley.
