Though a handful of deals were made on Thursday evening, the Friday afternoon transactions left some baseball fans in the center of the storm. Perhaps most notably, the Chicago Cubs traded away some core players before the deadline, many of which were the remaining members of the 2016 World Series championship team. As of Sunday evening, the Cubs are 12 1/2 games behind the first place Milwaukee Brewers, with a 51-56 record good for fourth place in the National League Central division.
