Date Time Attempted murder charge after domestic-related assault at Wollongong A man will face court today charged with attempted murder following a domestic-related incident at Wollongong overnight. About 9.20pm (Thursday 24 December 2020), a 63-year-old man was at his Mathews Street home, when he was confronted in the bedroom by a 31-year-old man, known to him. It’s alleged the younger man, armed with a knife, placed the older man in a headlock and cut his throat. The injured man was able to fight him off and break free before driving himself to Wollongong Hospital where police were notified. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
