North Carolina Community Colleges Will Now Award College Credit for Cambridge International s Advanced Courses Cambridge Advanced (AS and A Levels) courses will now carry the same grade weighting as other advanced course options with North Carolina Community College Systems News provided by Share this article Share this article RALEIGH, N.C., May 13, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges has adopted a comprehensive credit for prior learning policy that includes Cambridge Assessment International Education s (Cambridge International) AS- and A-Level examinations. With this recent policy change, institutions in the North Carolina Community College System will now award college credit to any student earning an E grade on Cambridge International Advanced examinations, giving AS- and A-Level courses the same college credit opportunities as other advanced courses offered to students.

Sheep vs. Lawnmowers: UC Campus Tests Which is Better to Maintain Grounds May 8, 2021 Sheep were grazing the University of California–Davis campus this week in an academic experiment to see if the ewes can eat weeds and grass, fertilize, and control pests, as well as or better than using conventional landscaping methods. The woolly ewes are part of a multidisciplinary study to explore the possibilities of saving the campus money and resources at the same time. “My interest is taking the science on green infrastructure and sustainability and designing it so it’s interactive, beautiful and practical,” said A. Haven Kiers, assistant professor of landscape architecture in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, who is leading the project.

Comparisons can be enlightening but they can also be fickle, misdirecting attention and undermining achievements. When I departed Meadow Festival on its last day, the reflections came teeming in and the judgements accumulated. There will always be noise – prior festival experiences thwarting novelty; friends’ opinions clouding perceptions, yet, there isn’t a more authentic and organic way to lend your assessment to something than by judging it on its merits. That’s what I’ll be doing with this piece – removing likenesses and wandering narratives to give Meadow its own lane, for which it deserves.
