WORCESTER – At the same time city councilors asked the city manager for a report on Amazon s plans for a distribution center in Greendale, the board was told the online retail giant also plans to open a similar facility near the airport.
District 5 Councilor Matthew Wally said at Tuesday’s meeting Amazon is planning to build a facility at the Airport Industrial Park; he asked councilors to amend an order made earlier in the meeting on the Greendale Mall site to request information on the Goddard Memorial Drive project as well.
The City Council asked the city manager to provide a report on the proposed move at the Greendale Mall site because they said they want to ensure the process will be transparent.

MONROVIA – The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has provided US$101,645 to the Benefit Sharing Trust Board of Liberia. The board, which controls funds from logging concessions for communities, has had no funding to carry out its work in the last three years.
“We are happy to be here to witness the signing of this very important project, activity to ensure that in Liberia logging will be reduced and eventually eliminated,” Madam Mariatou Njie, FAO’s country representative, said on Monday at a ceremony at the UN headquarters in Sinkor.
