3 hurt in drive-by shooting in north London

Top Story December 16, 2020 LONDON: A man in his 20s is in a life-threatening condition and two others have been injured in a drive-by shooting in north London. Shots were fired from one car at a group of men in another in Middleton Road, Hackney at around 9.15pm on Monday, the Metropolitan Police said. Investigators have appealed for witnesses who saw the shooting or a vehicle being driven erratically to come forward. Two of the three victims, all men aged in their 20s, suffered minor injuries, but the third is in hospital with a head injury and is in a life-threatening condition.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident on Middleton Road. Police were called at about 9.15pm on Monday night, and found three men in their 20s injured at the scene. The victims are believed to have been travelling in a vehicle along Middleton Road when shots were fired from another vehicle, which then sped away, according to Scotland Yard. One of the men was taken to hospital with a head injury and remains in a critical condition.

Police and coastguard are on the scene today following the discovery of human remains. Officers were called out to the Dingieshowe area at around 1.30pm on Monday, when the beach was cordoned off and remains closed to the public.  Chief Inspector Matthew Webb, of Kirkwall Police Station, said: “We are working to identify human remains found around 1.30pm on Monday, 14 December, 2020, on the beach at Dingieshowe, Orkney. “Officers, supported by the coastguard, are at the scene today which has been cordoned off. “A full investigation is underway to establish the person’s identity and the circumstances surrounding how they came to be there, as well as what may have happened.
