A testimony to the BuckÕs fine construction skills, this homestead farm has some of the familyÕs original log buildings (pictured) from the 1830Õs and 40Õs still currently in use. This week we begin a series of articles on another one of Asphodel-Norwood’s earliest and very prominent families. Norwood or rather Keeler’s Mills as it was known was only about 12 years old when the patriarch of this particular clan and his family first landed in the area in 1834 and ever since the surname “Buck” has had and continues to have strong associations in the Asphodel-Norwood area.
