DALLAS While lines to get into the Fair Park mega-site seem to go on forever, the vaccine supply certainly does not.
Dallas County Health and Human Services said late Thursday the site would be closed on Friday because it has already administered the 9,000 doses received this week from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
New York City alone canceled 23,000 appointments this week because of a dwindling supply of shots.
Delayed deliveries, states getting fewer doses than expected and scheduling issues have pushed people like Sanford to conclude that he may not get a second dose within the prescribed window of 21 or 28 days. Dr. Phil Huang, the Director of Dallas County Health and Human Services, admitted Thursday that vaccine availability is a limiting factor to distribution right now. Nationwide, everywhere, there s just not a lot of vaccines, Huang said.
