J L Reppert Named Holy Cross Men s Lacrosse Coach

Reppert joins the Crusaders after spending the last six years as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland.  J.L. Reppert has been one of the top assistant lacrosse coaches in the country, said Blossom. He s also a high-character individual with a tremendous passion for the game of lacrosse and, most importantly, the personal development of student-athletes. Maryland s Reppert To Be Holy Cross s Next Head Coach

Reppert competes against Connor Kelly in the Low Angle Challenge in the fall of 2017. Maryland assistant JL Reppert is set to become the next head coach at Holy Cross, multiple sources have told Inside Lacrosse. Reppert joined the Terrapins staff ahead of the 2015 season and has been the offensive coordinator for six Big Ten championships, four Final Fours and the 2017 NCAA Championship. Prior to joining the Terps, Reppert was an assistant at Navy, Washington College and Harvard, and played his collegiate lacrosse as a Midshipman. The Crusaders’ head coach position opened on Jan. 8 after parting ways with Peter Burke. Shayne Lynch was elevated to the interim coach, but the team has not yet begun practicing. Holy Cross went 4-3 prior to last season’s shutdown, and will be a part of the Patriot League’s North division in 2021. Sources tell IL that Reppert will retain Lynch and assistant Ian Farley for the 2021 season.

Bernhardt previously planned to spend his fifth year of eligibility playing football at Ferris State, a Division II powerhouse, and had even been in Michigan working out with the team. But after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the fall season (and all of Division II football), Bernhardt contemplated his athletic future and decided to return to the Terps. In June, Bernhardt a 2019 Tewaaraton finalist told US Lacrosse Magazine that he was still unsure of what he’d do in the spring.

Taylor McDaniels wins Atlantic Coast Conference’s Go Teach Tuition Giveaway grand prize. “Being diagnosed with Dyslexia myself, I was always told I wasn’t good enough,” McDaniels said during the ACC Network interview Monday night when she learned she was the $20,000 grand prize recipient. “It was something that I never wanted anyone else to feel.” McDaniels, a native of Monrovia, Md., and the youngest of nine children, plans to pursue her masters in special education. The UNC attacker scored 32 goals over 45 games for the Tar Heels and will graduate a semester early this December with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies. Notre Dame midfielder Maddie Carr and Virginia Tech’s Sara Goodwin were also amongst the 15 student-athletes in the ACC who received a $2,500 future educators scholarship.

Ursinus women s lacrosse pioneer Marge Watson has died at 90. Watson started the program at Ursinus in 1955, and over the next quarter-century, Watson developed Ursinus into a national power. She finished with seven undefeated seasons and a record of 199-19. Her .896 winning percentage ranks second in NCAA history. She is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Navy freshman Xavier Arline performed well in the 15-0 loss, rushing 17 times for 109 yards including this explosive 53-yard run that ended at the 1-yard line.
