The Eagles can save $8.5 million in cash and on their 2021 cap by moving on, but Ertz is not going to have a market at that price tag. Ertz would probably be looking at something in the $3 million to $4 million range on a one-year deal if he were released, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he took a pay cut as part of a deal. Clark, a 2016 third-round pick with the Indianapolis Colts, spent his entire four-year career with the team before becoming a free agent. Clark is still recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered last season that made him miss the rest of the season.
The signing could mean several changes, including the potential trade of a former first-round pick or a starter at the position last season.
May 19, 2021 PHILADELPHIA - In a bit of a surprise, the Eagles added to an already-crowded offensive tackle depth chart Wednesday by signing veteran Le’Raven Clark to a one-year deal.
A former third-round pick out of Texas Tech in 2016, Clark spent his first five NFL seasons in Indianapolis so new Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is very familiar with the 28-year-old from his three seasons as Frank Reich s offensive coordinator (2018-2020).
Clark made 15 starts with the Colts in 47 career games, mainly serving as a swing tackle. He is coming off a torn Achilles suffered in December of last season, however, something that is typically a nine-month injury especially for someone who is 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds like Clark.
