“There’s not a lot in there for the SME sector at all. [The] Government has to trade off priorities but I would have liked to see more in the innovation and IT space.” BusinessNZ chief executive Kirk Hope said businesses would indirectly benefit from beneficiaries getting an income boost because that money would be spent in the economy. The increase in the Government’s infrastructure spending would also help some firms, he said. “But there’s little else directly focused on building the economy or easing the burden on businesses. “Business was keen to see less burdensome regulation, policies to stimulate growth and development, and more certainty around business policies into the future.
How many people are standing in the Crawley elections 2021?
Forty-eight candidates will be hoping for good luck on May 6 when Crawley goes to the polls to fill 14 seats on the borough council.
One-third of the 36 seats will be up for election along with those of Francis Guidera (Con, Tilgate), who resigned in March, and Geraint Thomas (Lab, Ifield), who died in November 2019.
Crawley s local elections take place on Thursday, May 6
Due to the pandemic, no by-election was able to be held for control of Mr Thomas’ seat before now.
The council has been in no overall control since former Labour councillors Karen Sudan and Rory Fiveash quit the Party to become Independents.

Close
Johnny Ward is part of a four-man rowing team that has crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a single boat.
The travel blogger is originally from Kilkeel in County Down and took on the challenge to raise awareness about mental health.
The trip - dubbed The Atlantic Dash - was a 3,200 mile journey from the Canary Islands to Antigua.
Johnny s crewmates were Billy Taylor, Martin Heseltine and BBC TV chef Dirty Vegan Matt Pritchard.
They initially set off from Lanzarote on 6 March, but the journey had to restart from Fuerteventura a week later because of seat problems.
