Even in defeat, New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole is able to add to his legacy.
Cole took the loss Monday against the Texas Rangers, giving up five runs in five innings of work, to fall to 5-2 this season with a 2.03 ERA. As a result of the 5-2 loss at Globe Life Field, Cole failed to become the first six-game winner in the American League.

Minneapolis, MN The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has placed infielder Brock Holt on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 3, with a right hamstring strain.
To replace Holt on the active roster, Texas has selected the contract of infielder Andy Ibanez from Triple-A West Round Rock. Ibanez (#77) was on the taxi squad for this roadtrip. He will be looking to make his Major League debut.
