SMYRNA A 16-year-old Stewarts Creek High student was arrested for having a gun and marijuana on the school campus Tuesday.
School Resource Officer Matt Clagg charged the teen with possession of a weapon on campus and simple possession of marijuana after school resource officers found the items inside his backpack.
SRO Lt. Alan Garner said administrators received information about the handgun, placed the school on lockdown and notified the SROs.
Within minutes, Clagg, SRO Shane Vaughn, and Stewarts Creek Middle SRO Chris Freischlag took the student into custody.
