Magic Round preview A Set the default text size A Set large text size Replay A Set the default text size A Set large text size After last year’s festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Magic Round returns this year, with Suncorp Stadium to play host to all eight matches this weekend. Following a recent COVID scare in Sydney, all players have been placed under the same stage three restrictions that most, if not all, of Australia were subject to at the height of the pandemic last year, for what is hoped to only be a brief period.

A tale of two rebuilds: Dragons versus Bulldogs

A tale of two rebuilds: Dragons versus Bulldogs A Set the default text size A Set large text size Replay A Set the default text size A Set large text size As far as spectacles go, the Dragons versus Bulldogs game last Sunday was one best forgotten. Indeed, if anything it lent plenty of weight to the widespread suspicion that the NRL lacks the quality of players to field a 17th team when the second Brisbane club inevitably enters the comp in 2023. For all the wrong reasons, these two proud clubs share a number of parallels as far as recent on and off-field performances go.

Photo: Sina Schuldt/picture alliance via Getty Images German billionaire heiress, Susanne Klatten is the daughter of Herbert and Johanna Quandt, the former being a German industrialist who is known for saving luxury vehicles company, BMW from the point of bankruptcy. Thanks to BMW s recovery from a slump earlier in the pandemic, US$10.9 billion was added to Klatten s fortune. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.” Delivered by the character Kyle Reese in the 1984 classic The Terminator, these words were passionately used to convince Sarah Connor that, if she wanted to live, she had to understand that a mechanical monster was coming to get her and it would keep coming no matter what.

It is time for the Waratahs Roger Davis to go

It is time for the Waratahs Roger Davis to go A Set the default text size A Set large text size Replay A Set the default text size A Set large text size I’ve been very vocal in my comments on this site that I want Roger Davis, the chairman of the New South Wales Rugby Union, to resign. I completely disagree with the sacking of Rob Penney. I believe Davis is culpable for the current state of the Waratahs. He has led the organisation since he was invited to take up the role nine years ago. Back then, his role was Chairman of NSW Waratahs Limited, running the professional game in NSW. Nick Farr-Jones led a separate board for the New South Wales Rugby Union, running the community game.
