Cape Town man's criminal record to be 'delinked'

Cape Town man’s criminal record to be ’delinked’ Share A 28-year-old Table View resident says he is excited for the future after confirmation from authorities that his identity will be “delinked” from an alleged criminal record associated with his name which he has been fighting to correct for more than a year. Shane Alexander van Schalkwyk said he first came to know of the criminal record when a recruiting company he applied to last year informed him when they did a background check on him. “In February of 2020 I applied for a job, and with my permission they conducted a background check, then it came back with a ‘general theft’ charge. I know for a fact I have a clear record and have never been charged with a crime in my life.

Hawks apologise for 'confusion' caused by error in statement on arrest of DA councillor

Plato lashes out at Hawks over Ters claims

Plato lashes out at Hawks over Ters claims Share MAYOR Dan Plato used his annual budget speech to lash out at the Hawks, saying the the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation seemed to be acting on false information provided to them about a case involving a DA councillor. Table View councillor Nora Grose, 64, appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraud and money laundering last week. The Hawks said Grose, who handed herself over to the Hawks, allegedly facilitated the Temporary Employee Relief Scheme (Ters) funding along with chairperson of an NGO called the South African Religious Civic Organisation (Sarco).
