Ross McLeish appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday for sentencing having been found behind the wheel of a vehicle in the town in January while almost three times over the legal alcohol limit. The 45-year-old had 62 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres (ml) of breath while driving a vehicle at the St James Retail Park in Glasgow Road and elsewhere on January 17 this year.

The 36-year-old, who legally can’t be identified to protect her children, previously admitted wilfully neglecting and exposing the children in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to health. On October 6, 2019, at a property in the Vale of Leven, she failed to provide lodgings which were safe and of an adequate standard of hygiene. In particular, the charges stated, she exposed them to toxic substances, including animal urine and faeces, and allowed them to live at the property when it was infested with insects.

George Hagen previously pleaded guilty to the attack on April 16, 2019 in Shandon Crescent, Alexandria, where he seized hold of the woman by her neck to her injury. The offence was aggravated by being against a partner. Hagen, 52, of Glen Avenue, Alexandria, appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 19 for sentencing. The court had previously deferred sentence for him to be of good behaviour, but was told he had recently been jailed at Glasgow Sheriff Court for breaching a non-harassment order, including leaving voicemails and sending letters.
TWO men have pleaded guilty to attacking a man with a bicycle chain at a flat in Dumbarton while they demanded money from his friend. Russell Mackinnon pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and attempted robbery on Friday - but only after a jury had been sworn in to hear his trial. Mackinnon, 35, who was listed in court papers as an inmate at Inverness prison, admitted assaulting a man at Valeview Terrace, Dumbarton, on July 31, 2020. He forced entry to the property, demanded money, uttered threats of violence, repeatedly struck his victim on the head and body with a bicycle chain, to the man’s injury, and attempted to rob him of a quantity of money.
