Ernest Hemingway’s life has been examined in a six-hour PBS documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. You can separate the man from the myth and still appreciate his visionary work.PBS
Robert Seltzer, a good friend, fellow scrivener and contributor to these pages, called me from El Paso to ask if I was watching the Ken Burns’ documentary on Ernest Hemingway.
“It’s so depressing,” Seltzer said of the third and final segment. “The episode tonight is the hardest of all.”
