Brockville police are warning area residents to be careful after a black bear was sighted in the city’s north end.
“A small black bear” has been seen in the north end of by the Laurier Boulevard fire hall, police noted in a social media post Thursday morning.

“Please do not approach the animal,” police added.
“The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has been notified. We are hoping the bear will venture back north to the wildlife area.”
Staff Sgt. Andrew Harvie said there were two sightings of the animal, one early Thursday morning and again around 7:30 a.m.
