Nigeria's Ntia-Obong wins 60m, 200m races in Kansas – Punch Newspapers

Johnny Edward Mercy Ntia-Obong emerged winner in the 60m and 200m races at the All-Kansas Invite, where she represented her school, Cloud County Community College, on Saturday. The Nigerian took part in three of her school’s five victories at the event, and set one of the two national qualifying marks. Ntia-Obong ran a time of 7.74secs, a national qualifying time in the 60m preliminary stages, ahead of her teammate, Isila Apkup (7.80secs) and Fort Hays’ Holman Lyric (7.81secs). She replicated her impressive form in the 200m, finishing with a time of 24.14secs, ahead of Apkup, who came second in 25.07secs, while Sinegal Trinity from Fort Scott County placed third in 25.12secs.

African Games triple jump champion Anigbata admits to nerves before gold Monday, 11 January 2021 African Games triple jump champion Grace Anigbata Chinonyelum has admitted to skipping breakfast before winning the continental event due to nerves. Anigbata was 20 and in Morocco without a her coach when she jumped 13.75 metres at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. The day before my competition, I was nervous, Anigbata revealed in an interview with Kansas State University s website. Anigbata is now a student-athlete at the American university.  In the morning, before going to the track, I couldn t eat. I wasn t thinking about food. Instead, Anigbata was thinking about making the qualification standard for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, rather than appreciating the chance that was there to win the African Games title.

Kansas Wesleyan adds Leite to Office of Diversity The Salina Journal Kansas Wesleyan has added a longtime collegiate professor to its growing Office of Diversity. Pedro Leite, former Vice President for Student Affairs and Academic Affairs at Cloud County Community College, has joined the staff as a Student Support Advisor.  Leite spent this fall as an adjunct in KWU’s Computer Studies department, after coming to KWU from Cloud County Community College. He has also worked in administrative or faculty roles at Butler County Community College, Friends University and Kansas State Polytechnic, and he championed diversity-related initiatives at each.  “We’re thrilled to bring Prof. Pedro Leite into the Office of Diversity,” said Dr. Damon Kraft, KWU Provost. “His wealth of experience in higher education, both in administration and classroom instruction, will enable him to contribute significantly to the KWU mission. We believe he will effectively work with Dr. Allen Smith
