The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has partnered with other local organizations to host the Business Builder Expo next month. Chamber Director Emma Skahill says that this event will feature business leaders who will share strategies and tips for success in business development. “This is a virtual event that we’re planning with a few other organizations, including the PACE Alliance, Marion County Development, and DMACC Business Resources, a lot of collaboration going on. This is targeted to anyone wanting to start a business or anyone looking to grow their existing business. It’ll be an evening of resources, networking and some local entrepreneur panels. It will have a lot of good information for anyone wanting to learn more about how to get their business going.”

Students team up for East End Arts MLK Portrait Project

(Credit: East End Arts) Students from across the East End collaborated for East End Arts’ MLK Portrait Project in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Four different portraits, each containing 16 panels, were created as a unique images of Dr. King. The project was inspired by the work of East End Arts teacher Kenneth Jackson. The project is “a way to celebrate the words of MLK by working together in unity, each creating an individual part, that ultimately becomes whole. Each panel style is different, yet they all fit together.”
