Sky News royal correspondent Alastair Bruce said the pressure was on the Queen today.
He said: She took delight in the fact the beating heart of the British nation continuing through the adversity. In a way she is the solid figure amid the haze of challenge the UK has had to deal with. And the ceremonial part gives her huge pleasure.

Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle, 39, will have their behaviour evaluated by the Queen ahead of the Megxit review in March amid calls for them to have their titles removed. But two royal commentators claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should hand their titles back as they don t need them . Meghan and Harry, who stepped down in March, were stopped by the Queen from using their titles in a professional capacity.

Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in March. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made media appearances, signed a deal with Netflix and launched their own Spotify podcast. Royal expert Dickie Arbiter said it is extraordinary that the couple are making these appearances after wanting privacy.

Christmas Day will be unrecognisable for the Royal Family this year. With the new coronavirus tier 4 rules set in motion from Sunday morning, the Firm will be even more isolated than what the prior rules had allowed for. It will be a tough period as the Queen has a huge family: four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren from several different households.

The Duchess of Sussex stepped down from her role as a senior working member of the Royal Family this year in a dramatic split away from duties with husband Prince Harry. The move, dubbed Megxit, saw the couple leave the UK in pursuit of a different path in the US. Meghan and Harry have expressed a desire to become financially independent from the Firm - and have struck numerous lucrative deals in the US to do so.
