Police issued a traffic alert Thursday morning saying Mitch Owens Road is closed in both directions between John Quinn and 8th Line roads in both directions, while Ramsayville Road is closed south of Rideau Road due to a collision. There were reports that there were three people injured, including two with life-threatening injuries. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

A crash closed all lanes of the westbound Highway 417 at Innes Road during the Wednesday morning commute.
Ottawa paramedics had a heads-up for commuters just after 7:20 a.m.

The westbound lanes remained closed at Innes Road for most of the morning after the collision involving several vehicles and a tractor trailer, the OPP said. No one was injured.
By about 11 a.m., the ministry of transport reported that the right lane of westbound 417 and both shoulders were closed for clean-up and repairs.

Heads up, it might be a white knuckle commute home or a trudge through heavy snow.
A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Monday afternoon with five to 10 cm of snow in the forecast by evening.

Environment and Climate Change Canada said that a band of snow will move across Ottawa, and much of eastern Ontario, starting Monday morning.
“The snow will likely become heavy at times Monday afternoon, and will result in poor visibilities in heavy snow over portions of the area,” the weather agency said.

With plenty of fresh snow on the ground and a snowfall warning still in effect school buses are cancelled across Ottawa and Eastern Ontario Tuesday.
The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, which ferries students to English public and Catholic schools, said that all buses and vans were cancelled and while schools were open, pick up would be up to parents.

Buses were also cancelled by Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario, which serves English schools in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, and Prescott-Russell.
