Kota Kinabalu: Residents here and Penampang had the chance to see the Total Lunar Eclipse which lasted for about three hours and 29 minutes on Wednesday.
A total lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and its shadow covers the Moon. Eclipse watchers can see the moon turn red when the eclipse reaches totality.
The eclipse started at 6.47pm and by 7.18pm was at its maximum.

The eclipse was also visible in South/East Asia, Australia, Much of North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Antarctica.
