Blue Angels to appear in Melbourne this weekend for The Great Florida Air Show

For the first time in six years, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will take to the skies of Melbourne as they headline The Great Florida Air Show May 15-16.
Orlando Melbourne International Airport will host the highflying team and other performers in partnership with The Air Show Network, with Northrop Grumman as the presenting sponsor.
The show site will be among the first to view the Blue Angel’s new F-18 Super Hornet planes, which are nearly 25 percent larger than their legacy predecessors.
A wanted man has been arrested on his return to Australia from Turkey following a NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) investigation into suspected terrorism offences.
The 30-year-old former Sydney man, who was subject to an outstanding arrest warrant in NSW, was arrested at Melbourne International Airport by members of the AFP International Counter Terrorism Investigations Response Team after arriving on a flight from Turkey about 4pm yesterday (Saturday, 8 May 2021).
The arrest warrant was sought by NSW JCTT – comprising the AFP, NSW Police Force (NSWPF), the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, and the NSW Crime Commission – following an investigation into the man’s alleged travel from Sydney to Turkey in 2013.

Sheltair has expanded its network with the addition of Apex Executive Jet Center, one of two full-service providers at Florida’s Orlando Melbourne International Airport (KMLB). For Sheltair the purchase represents its 19
th FBO and the 12
th in its home state.
The company has had a presence at KMLB since 1988 and already operated 250,000 sq ft of hangar space there. The new acquisition added another 52,000 sq ft of hangar space that can accommodate ultra-long-range business jets. Also included in the purchase was the 12,400-sq-ft terminal, which features a pilot lounge, flight planning area, 10-seat A/V-equipped conference room, refreshment bar, concierge, and available U.S. Customs.
Every passenger occupying one of the 176 seats aboard the JQ201 service between Sydney and Auckland which was due to depart at the ungodly hour of 6.15am has their own travel story.
But, aboard this morning s historic first flight of the trans-Tasman bubble, perhaps few will be more poignant than that of Lisa Te Tai and her 16-month-old granddaughter, Manaia Taalili.
