MTACC planning for annual car show later in summer

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce is still going ahead with plans for their annual car show this year. However, the event won’t be held on the normal Father’s Day weekend this year. Executive director Cam Lee told northeastNOW they want to make sure they get the most out of the event. “We figured, if we booked something later in the summer,” he said, “perhaps there would be a little bit more time to have some of those [COVID-19] restrictions lifted.” Lee said the event is a great way to bring car enthusiasts to Melfort, “just to have a lot of like-minded people that are interested in cars and other vehicles to gather and to show off their babies,” Lee said, “and for the public to have a chance to walk around and just take a look and some really nice vehicles.”

Melfort, SK, Canada / CJVR Today s Best Country May 7, 2021 8:00 AM The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce (MTACC) says they’ve heard of anti-mask incidents at local businesses that have included verbal abuse towards employees. The MTACC said in a release that there have been incidents at multiple businesses in Melfort and it’s unfair to those businesses. “These businesses, and the employees in the businesses, and obviously the customers in the businesses, we’ve all been through enough the last 15 months,” said executive director Cam Lee. “I don’t think we need any verbal abuse or anything like that.” Lee said it’s quite disappointing to hear of incidents like this happening in our own backyard.
