PITTSFIELD, Mass. Flat burgers are coming to downtown Pittsfield. Co-owners of Thistle and Mirth Joad Bowman and Austin Oliver are embarking on a new endeavor in the former Flavors of Malaysia at 75 North St. Flat Burger Society, a burger joint and future performance venue, will focus on flat, stackable burgers made from beef that is processed in-house. It will also serve hand-cut fries, milkshakes, a small selection of salads and soups, and have a full bar. Between Joad and I, we have 30 years of experience in this business, Oliver said. And our primary goal is, we don t take ourselves too seriously, and we are here to make sure everyone has a good time. All the bits and pieces, we re gonna make as good as possible, and at the end of the day we want people to just be having a good time.
This is the group s second consecutive year cleaning up the area and is the first time in a year that members have been able to gather in person. This is just the beginning of in-person events that the organization looks forward to in postpandemic times. Apex announces Jayhawk Wind sale to power Facebook facility in Nebraska

PITTSBURG, Kan. Apex Clean Energy announced Monday that it has sold the Jayhawk Wind project in northwest Crawford and southwest Bourbon counties to two other power companies, WEC Energy Group and Invenergy, along with a renewable power purchase agreement with Facebook.
“Jayhawk Wind will help Facebook meet its goal to support its operations in the region with 100% renewable energy and reach net-zero carbon emissions,” Apex said in a press release.
Electricity from the local wind farm will power a Facebook data center in Sarpy County, Nebraska, according to Melanie Roe, technology communications manager at Facebook. The data center near Omaha is currently operating but also still partially under construction, Roe said, and will eventually employ about 200 people.
