CAMDEN Maine Master Gardener John Fromer will lead a presentation on perennial botany and identification for gardeners, Tuesday, July 27, at 12 p.m.,at Merryspring Nature Center.
Learning basic botany can give gardeners the knowledge needed to solve problems and make informed decisions in the garden. An understanding of botany can help in garden design, growing, maintenance, and propagation. While modern smartphone apps are useful, they may not always correctly identify plants or may provide too many results to choose from.
In this program, John Fromer will speak about how a grasp of perennial botany can be used to better care for, identify, and maintain a healthy garden. The talk will be followed by a short walk through the perennial beds at Merryspring, now in full bloom.
