The Port Sunlight 10k/5k 2021 meeting was due to take place on Sunday, June 13, but organisers have chosen to cancel the event amid existing fears about social-distancing. Hoylake-based BTR Liverpool had been optimistic about staging the event this year, particularly with Wirral s progress in reducing infection rates, but in line with the government s ongoing road map plans, have recognised that the popularity of the event could still pose a health risk to participants, spectators and residents of the village.

A bogus taxi driver jailed for attacking a female passenger was given a character reference by a Liverpool councillor.
Cllr Christine Banks provided a glowing testimonial for ex-private hire driver Joseph Prior, the ECHO can now reveal.
But he went out late in Liverpool city centre in March 2019 to try and pick up illegal fares, when he targeted a drunk lone woman.

This competition has ranged from three universities in Liverpool, with a huge near-total of 55,000 students. Out of the hundreds of nominations we received at the start of the competition, you’ve narrowed it down to just these three individuals. Think they deserve the crown of Liverpool BNOC 2021?
