Dublin’s Capel Street and Parliament Street are to go car-free on weekend evenings for the next six weeks.
Dublin City Council has said the trial will see cars banned from the streets from 6.30pm to 11.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The trial gets underway next Friday, with officials set to assess the outcome once it is complete.

In a statement, DCC said the trial is aimed at facilitating outdoor dining.
It said a range of other streets will be made “effectively traffic-free” while Capel and Parliament streets are closed:
