PITTSFIELD â A Pittsfield automobile dealership run by the same family for over 50 years has been sold to another family-owned enterprise that operates 10 other locations in New England.
McGee Family Dealerships has purchased Flynn Volkswagen Audi BMW on Merrill Road for $3.5 million, according to documents filed at the Berkshire Middle District Registry of Deeds. The dealerships will be renamed Audi Pittsfield, Volkswagen Pittsfield and Berkshire BMW. McGee will run the dealerships under the local entity 600 Merrill Road LLC.
The new local ownership entity has obtained a $2.3 million mortgage on the property from BMW Financial Services, according to registry documents.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A mother is mourning the loss of her son, 35-year-old Byron Allan King, after he was killed in a single-vehicle crash on his moped on a Monday morning, February 15.
A spokesperson for Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said an off-duty officer saw the crash. The off-duty officer said it appeared King lost control of the moped while attempting to make a lane change traveling eastbound on Merrill Road near Hartsfield Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville firefighters saved a 27-year-old man in a dramatic rescue Saturday evening in the St. Johns River, hoisting him out of the water after his car fell over the Dames Point Bridge.
Photos from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department show a captain harnessing the man and as crews on the bridge pulled him to safety. The driver had gotten out of his car, which was underwater.
